چکیده
This paper reports on the numerical analysis of a volumetric solar receiver-reactor for hydrogen production, using 2-step reduction–oxidation cycle. A detailed parametric sweep covering hundreds various parameter combinations is performed large reactor, transient physical model. We generate performance maps which are currently cost prohibitive via experimental or high–fidelity simulation studies. The following metrics evaluated: to fuel efficiency, yield, conversion extent and specific yield. show that relations between different complex, leading optimal points depending metric pursued. daily yield single reactor varied 0.89 kg an absorber thickness 30 mm, up 1.04 60 mm thick receiver, with efficiency values 3.84% 3.81% respectively. Thermochemical solar hydrogen generation.
Solar direct, indirect and hybrid thermochemical processes are presented for the generation of hydrogen and compared to alternate solar hydrogen processes. A hybrid solar thermal/electrochemical process combines efficient photovoltaics and concentrated excess sub-bandgap heat into highly efficient elevated temperature solar electrolysis of water and generation of H2 fuel utilizing the thermodyn...

Photocatalytic reforming of lignocellulosic biomass is an emerging approach to produce renewable H2 . This process combines photo-oxidation of aqueous biomass with photocatalytic hydrogen evolution at ambient temperature and pressure. Biomass conversion is less energy demanding than water splitting and generates high-purity H2 without O2 production. Direct photoreforming of raw, unprocessed bio...

We report on the fabrication of CdSe quantum dot (QD) sensitized electrodes by direct adsorption of colloidal QDs on mesoporous TiO2 followed by 3-mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) ligand exchange. High efficiency photoelectrochemical hydrogen generation is demonstrated by means of these electrodes. The deposition of ZnS on TiO2/CdSe further improves the external quantum efficiency from 63% to 85% a...

It would be convenient if gigantic reservoirs of molecular hydrogen H2(g) existed in the earth’s crust that could be safely tapped as an energy source. Instead, most hydrogen found near the earth’s surface is bound up in water as protons, H(aq) that must be reduced before utilization as a fuel (1). When the electrons for proton reduction come from the oxidation of water to O2(g), this redox che...

Novel photocatalysts based on ruthenium complexes with NHC (N-heterocyclic carbene)-type bridging ligands have been prepared and structurally and photophysically characterised. The identity of the NHC-unit of the bridging ligand was established unambiguously by means of X-ray structural analysis of a heterodinuclear ruthenium-silver complex. The photophysical data indicate ultrafast intersystem...
